Introduction
The Pheasant Inn is a 17th-century stone farmhouse inn in Stannersburn, about a mile from Kielder Water. We want everyone to enjoy their stay, and this statement describes our facilities honestly, so you can decide whether they meet your needs.
As an old building, some features, such as steps and an external stone stair, may make access difficult for people with limited mobility. Please call us on 01434 240 382 and we’ll do everything we can to help.
Before you arrive
- Directions and a map are on our Contact page.
- You can book rooms online, or by phone if you’d like to talk through your needs first.
- We can provide meals for special dietary requirements. Please tell us when you book.
Parking and arrival
- Free parking is right outside the inn.
- A designated disabled parking space is about 50 metres from the main entrance.
- There’s a drop-off point immediately outside the main entrance.
- The route from the car park to the entrance is flat, with no steps.
Bar, restaurant and dining room
- There is level access into the bars, restaurant and breakfast room, with no steps or thresholds.
- The guest toilets are reached by two steps.
- There is no wheelchair-accessible toilet in the pub.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
- We have eight bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms.
- Most rooms are on the ground floor around the courtyard. One or two of our ground-floor rooms can accommodate a wheelchair, although they are not specially equipped or adapted for disabled guests. If you have a disability or particular access needs, please call us on 01434 240 382 before you book so we can talk through your requirements with you directly, rather than leaving a note on the booking form.
- Three rooms are on the first floor, reached by an external stone stair with a handrail.
- Non-allergenic bedding, including non-feather pillows, is available on request.
- Suggested: add door widths, shower type (walk-in or tray), and whether grab rails are fitted.
Garden Cottage
Suggested: describe the cottage’s access, for example the approach from the car park, steps at the entrance, whether bedrooms are on the ground floor, and the bathroom layout.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Please contact us before your visit so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
General
- The owners or staff are on site 24 hours a day.
- Our emergency evacuation procedures include the safe exit of guests with disabilities. Please let us know if you may need help in an emergency.
- The whole inn is non-smoking.
