The Family Room sleeps four on the ground floor — a double bed and two singles, with enough space left over for everyone’s boots, bags and wet coats.
It has an en-suite shower room with Bramley toiletries, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a hairdryer and a hospitality tray, and it opens onto the courtyard garden where children can be children while the adults finish their tea. Access is level from the car park, which matters more than you would think with a family in tow.
Rates start from £170 a night for two and £230 for a family of four, and include a full Northumbrian breakfast for everyone, cooked to order and served from 8am. Smaller appetites are catered for, and we will make up packed lunches if you ask the night before.
Kielder is a good place to bring children: traffic-free cycling on the Lakeside Way, cycle hire we can arrange for you, the Birds of Prey Centre fifteen minutes away, the salmon centre and sculpture trail, and the Observatory for a night they will remember.
