Good to know
Check in from 3pm, check out by 10.30am. Free parking outside your door, free Wi-Fi throughout, and a drying room for walkers and cyclists. Three rooms are on the first floor up an external stone stair — tell us if you need level access and we’ll put you in a ground-floor courtyard room. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in selected rooms by arrangement; please ask when you book. Rooms are let on a bed and breakfast basis, with single occupancy from £125.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Rooms are ready from 3pm and we ask you to check out by 10.30am. If you’re going to arrive late, let us know when you book and we’ll make sure someone is expecting you.
Is breakfast included in the room rate?
Yes. Every room rate includes a full Northumbrian breakfast cooked to order and served in the dining room from 8am — local bacon and sausage, free-range eggs, smoked haddock, porridge and lighter options.
Can I bring my dog?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bars and in selected bedrooms by arrangement. Please tell us when you book so we can put you in the right room, and keep dogs on a lead in the public areas.
Do you have ground-floor rooms?
Yes. The Courtyard Double, Garden Double, Courtyard Twin, Garden Twin and the Family Room are all on the ground floor with level access from the car park. The Hayloft and Barn rooms are on the first floor, reached by an external stone stair, so tell us if stairs are a problem and we’ll place you accordingly.
How far is the inn from Kielder Water and the Observatory?
Kielder Water is about five minutes away by car and Kielder Observatory around twenty. Hexham is forty minutes, Newcastle upon Tyne an hour and a quarter, Carlisle an hour and a half, and Hadrian’s Wall under an hour down the North Tyne valley.
Is there parking and Wi-Fi?
Free parking sits right outside the rooms and there’s free Wi-Fi throughout the inn. There’s also a drying room for boots and waterproofs, and we’ll make up packed lunches if you ask the night before.
Can I book Garden Cottage online?
Not yet — the cottage is booked by phone. Call 01434 240 382 with your dates and we’ll confirm availability straight away, including taking the cottage alongside rooms in the inn for a larger party.
